About Our School
Henry C. Maxwell Elementary is a very diverse school with many opportunities for students to learn and excel. As a Responsive Classroom school, we emphasize academic, social and emotional growth. We offer small group lessons in reading and math, and we allow students to work at the level they're most comfortable with, but we also encourage them to achieve new heights. We offer a strong program for English language learners, and we also provide extra support to our gifted and talented learners through the Encore program.
We passionately believe that students need to have recess time, so we have 30 minutes of recess daily for every child. We offer a range of Related Arts classes, including music, PE, art, media arts and computer, where students can express themselves creatively.
